SHADOWS FALL, SATYRICON, ZAO First-Week Sales Revealed
June 21, 2006SHADOWS FALL's "Fallout from the War" CD — featuring some songs that didn't make it onto their breakthrough "The War Within" album, some B-sides from Japan releases and a few cover songs — has sold just under 13,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at position No. 83 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. This is substantially less than the 39,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The War Within", which came out in September 2004 and debuted at No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart. "The War Within" has since sold a total of 259,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
In other SoundScan news, SATYRICON's latest CD, "Now, Diabolical", shifted around 1,700 copies in its first week of release — around one-tenth of the total number of units (15,000) shifted by the band's last effort, "Volcano", which came out in the U.S. in 2004.
